Matsawela Phiri

Matsawela Phiri currently serves as a Tech Officer: Data Science at BCX since September 2023. Previously, Matsawela held the position of Data Science Intern at the same company and worked at Capitec Bank from February 2014 to May 2019 as a Service Consultant, where responsibilities included opening savings accounts, processing client information, and educating customers about banking products. Prior to that, Matsawela gained experience as a Personal Executive at Absa for a brief period in 2012, focusing on business mining and administrative tasks. Matsawela's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Limpopo, a BScHons in Statistics from the University of South Africa, and a Higher Certificate in Information Systems, Data Science from ExploreAI Academy, along with ongoing studies towards an MPhil in Development Finance at Stellenbosch Business School.
