Sean Burns

Sean Burns is the Chief Network Officer at Beacon, and he brings more than 20 years of experience within healthcare. Prior to Beacon, Sean spent seven years with Highmark Health as the VP of Value Based Reimbursement and Network Design, running a consulting practice at Optum, and with the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota plan where he had a number of different roles and responsibilities. Sean’s experience includes provider contracting strategies, innovative payment solutions, high performing network strategies, owning large projects (ICD10, Exchanges, System Migrations, etc.), and operations supporting across all segments within healthcare. Sean partnered internally to translate the impact of the initiatives he supported to all stakeholders, while also positioning externally with state and federal legislators, BCBS Association, employer groups, and consulting houses.
