Ravi Pratap Maddimsetty has a diverse work experience in the technology industry, with a focus on software development and innovation. Ravi Pratap started their career as an open-source hacker and contributor at GNOME, where they gained valuable experience in collaborating on large-scale projects. Ravi then joined Ximian, Inc. as a core developer, where they co-authored the Mono C# compiler with Miguel de Icaza.
In 2004, Ravi joined Morgan Stanley as an Information Technology Associate, where they honed their skills in the financial industry. Ravi Pratap then moved to Hillcrest Laboratories in 2005, where they served as the Manager of Software for the Embedded Client Team. During their tenure, Ravi played a significant role in various projects, including designing and coding components for a high-performance, zoomable user interface and leading the effort to build a next-generation DVR product. Ravi Pratap also established and expanded the offshore engineering team for the company in Bangalore.
In 2009, Ravi co-founded Beaconstac HQ, where they held the position of Co-Founder and CTO. Beaconstac is a mobilized customer engagement platform that enables physical products and places to communicate directly with consumers using technologies like QR codes, NFC tags, Bluetooth beacons, and geofencing. Under Ravi's leadership, Beaconstac grew to serve over 4,000 businesses and brands in more than 120 countries, reaching over 5 million monthly active users. Ravi's role focused on driving the company's vision and mission, building direct relationships with clients, and acquiring first-party data.
Throughout their career, Ravi has demonstrated their ability to combine beautiful user experiences with exceptional engineering skills, creating compelling products in various industries such as consumer goods, hospitality, retail, and real estate.
Ravi Pratap Maddimsetty pursued a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they enrolled at Washington University in St. Louis and completed their Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science and Engineering between 2002 and 2003.
