Bob McCaffrey

Bob McCaffrey currently serves as Associate Director of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing at Beam Therapeutics, a position held since August 2023. Previously, Bob held several roles at Foundation Medicine from June 2017 to August 2023, including Senior Manager of Procurement, where responsibilities included leading a global Procurement Operations group across the US and Germany, successfully driving a savings program that generated approximately $20 million annually. Prior to that, Bob worked as Manager of Procurement Operations and held various procurement positions at Alkermes, including Category Manager and Procurement Manager, where expertise in managing RFPs and large-scale purchasing operations was demonstrated. Additional experience includes serving as Manager at the Cambridge YMCA and establishing the first Purchasing Department at Advanced Inhalation Research. Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
