David Harris MBA, MSc

David Harris MBA, MSc has a wealth of experience in the security field. David began their career in 1986 as a Police Constable with the Metropolitan Police, before moving to the Royal Hong Kong Police in 1990 as a Detective Senior Inspector. In 2002, they joined Barclays Capital as Deputy Global Head of Security, where they led a cross-functional team of three and matrix-managed 800+ contract staff to improve security posture and limit operational loss. In 2006, they were selected by Barclays Wealth's CEO and COO to develop a security function for the start-up private wealth management division, where they hired, mentored and led a corporate team of six security experts and matrix-managed 200 third-party staff. In 2009, they became MD/Director of Physical Security for Barclays Bank Plc, where they advised C-suite leadership on current and emerging threats, defined strategy and executed roadmap to protect employees, company assets and brand reputation. In 2019, they founded Leidon Consulting Ltd, where they provided independent strategic and operational advice to improve global physical security, technology and cybersecurity posture and mitigate risk for clients. David also led high-level architectural design of an innovative software solution for digital governance, risks and controls assessment, impact analysis, remediation planning and management, covering all aspects of security operations. In 2022, they joined BeamUP as VP Strategic Operations.

David Harris obtained their MBA from Leicester University in 2001, majoring in General Finance. Prior to that, they obtained their MSc from Leicester University in 1996, majoring in Risk and Security Management.
