The Bear Knuckles Story

Shawn Schild grew up riding bareback rodeo and working in his dad’s leather shop B Bar B Leather in Blackfoot, Idaho. In 1991, a colleague in the rodeo circuit suggested Shawn make a better glove for bareback riding. So, after a long, tough night in the shop Shawn went to bed discouraged and convinced he would never make another glove again. But with encouragement from his wife and rodeo friends he got back on the ‘horse.’ Many designs later Shawn had a glove so popular that it has taken over more than half of the riding glove market. 

In 2017, Shawn reconnected with his old high school classmate who recognized the exciting potential the gloves design had in the work force. Bear Knuckles Gloves is the embodiment of that vision. Bear Knuckles brings Shawn’s unique design to work gloves for any application. The future is bright for Shawn and Bear Knuckles Gloves.
