Robotics Software Engineer at Bear Robotics

Hashir Zahir has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and software engineering. Hashir currently works as a Robotics Software Engineer at Bear Robotics, Inc. since 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Technical Lead and Software Developer at Bumblebee Autonomous Systems from 2018 to 2022, where they developed computer vision and control systems for underwater and surface autonomous robots. Hashir also worked on improving obstacle avoidance capabilities for autonomous surface vessels.

Hashir previously worked as a Robotics Software Engineer at Avetics Global in 2020, where they implemented autonomous features for unmanned drones and integrated custom payloads. Hashir also held the position of a Robotic Software Navigation Engineer at Solustar in 2020, where they worked on indoor autonomy solutions for mobile robot platforms and developed mapping, localization, and computer vision solutions.

Before that, Hashir gained experience as a Firefighter at the Singapore Civil Defence Force from 2016 to 2018, where they developed an app and served as a software lead for a special event involving a custom open-source social media website. Hashir started their professional journey as an Intern at the Institute for Infocomm Research in 2015, contributing to a robotics project by creating gestures for a conversing robot and developing algorithms for gesture selection.

Hashir Zahir completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2015, they attended NUS High School of Mathematics & Science, where they focused on honours in Mathematics and Physics, with a major in Chemistry and Economics.
