James Brown

James Brown is a seasoned professional in architecture and design, currently serving as Principal at Beardsley Architects + Engineers since August 2019. Previously, James held the position of Vice President and Creative Director at Phinney Design Group, where responsibilities included fostering creative development and facilitating project development among diverse teams. Early career roles include Vice President of Strategic Projects at Witt Construction, where James led product development and operational management, as well as Director of Design and Project Manager, focusing on custom homes. James began in the field as an intern at DeRocker Design Associates after earning a degree in Philosophy from Bowdoin College and completing a Master of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In addition to professional roles, James contributed as a Trustee at Chapman Historical Museum, chairing the Facilities Committee and initiating fundraising efforts.
