Social Studies, AP Seminar, & AVID Teacher at Beaverton School District

Greg Karakashian has a diverse range of work experience. Greg currently works as a Social Studies & AVID Teacher for the Beaverton School District since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked for Achievement First, a network of non-profit charter schools, where they held various roles such as Curriculum Fellow, AP Seminar Teacher, 11th Grade Team Lead, and Teacher-in-Residence from 2017 to 2021. Before that, they worked as a Teacher and Public Speaking Coach for Teach North Korean Refugees (TNKR) Global Education Center from December 2014 to August 2015, and as an ESL/ELL Teacher for Sogang University Languge Program from July 2014 to August 2015.

Greg Karakashian has a diverse education history. Greg obtained a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instruction from Oregon State University starting in 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Master's of Teaching, M.A.T degree from Relay Graduate School of Education between 2017 and 2019. Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Anthropology from UCLA, which they earned from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Social Sciences from Moorpark College from 2010 to 2012.

Furthermore, Greg Karakashian has obtained several additional certifications. Greg received a Social Studies Teaching License from the State of Oregon in January 2021. In 2019, they acquired an AP Capstone Certificate from The College Board and a Social Sciences Teachers, Postsecondary certification from the New York State Education Department. Greg also possesses an AP Seminar Reader certification from The College Board and an Advanced Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from TEFL Fullcircle, although it is not specified when these certifications were obtained.
