Monika Gangwer

Elementary Education Teacher at Beaverton School District

Monika Gangwer has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries and roles. Monika started their career at Seven Oaks Elementary as a 2nd-grade teacher and mentor for beginning teachers. Monika then moved on to work at North Star Public Charter School as a 2nd-grade teacher. Afterward, they joined Victory Charter School as an 8th-grade teacher and co-taught several subjects. Monika continued their teaching career at Liberty Charter School, where they served as a Title 1A Coordinator.

In 2006, Monika began working at BMed, Inc., where they fulfilled various responsibilities, including curriculum alignment, professional development, trademark updating, and web design. Monika also served as a teacher trainer at Liberty Charter School for new Harbor teachers.

From 2008 to 2012, Monika worked as an adjunct faculty member at Northwest Nazarene University, teaching professional development courses for the Department of Education. Monika then became a principal at Legacy Charter School, where they not only managed the school but also taught middle school Language Arts and Mathematics. Monika was responsible for website design and all professional development for three charter schools. Monika also developed an online training system as these schools expanded across Idaho.

Monika then established their own business, eduDREAMit!, LLC, in 2013. As the owner and operator, they provided education consulting services to families, specializing in bully prevention after receiving extensive training. Simultaneously, they became the Idaho Affiliate of the Workplace Bullying Institute.

In 2015, Monika joined Heritage Academy as the Middle School Principal and Director of Professional Development. Monika held this position until 2022. Currently, they are working as an Elementary Education Teacher at the Beaverton School District, a position they have held since 2016.

Monika Gangwer obtained a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Boise State University, which they completed between 1987 and 1994. Monika then pursued a Master's degree in Administration from Northwest Nazarene University, which they completed between 2006 and 2008. Monika also holds several certifications, including Elementary K-8 Teacher, K-12 Administration, Middle School Language Arts Certified, and Middle School Mathematics Certified, all obtained from the State of Idaho.
