Kara Yarter is an experienced educator currently serving as an Elementary Education Teacher at ICEF Public Schools since August 2022. Kara's teaching career includes roles as a Student Teacher at San Jose Charter Academy and as a Substitute Teacher across various school districts, including Bonita Unified School District. Additionally, Kara has served as a Summer School Teacher for middle school students learning English and as a Cohort Teacher during the pandemic, supporting a classroom environment for returning students. Prior experience includes positions as an Industrial Recruiter and a Social Work Intern. Kara holds a Master of Education in Elementary Education from the University of La Verne and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from The University of Alabama.

ICEF was one of the first charter school management organizations to open in Los Angeles, and quickly became a leader in raising the achievement levels of African-American and Latino/Hispanic students in the State of California.
