Shane Gowan is Beca Group's Decarbonisation Lead, focusing on transitioning clients to a low carbon future through the development of sustainable fuels like bioenergy and green hydrogen in New Zealand and Australia. With over 30 years of experience in mechanical engineering, project management, and consulting, Shane has held significant roles including General Manager of Beca's Industrial business and the Wood Beca Joint Venture. Currently, Shane chairs the New Zealand Hydrogen Council and participates in several energy and sustainability organizations. Shane earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Auckland.
