Chris Desjardins

GM, Tanks at Bechtel

Chris Desjardins is the general manager for the Tanks business line in Bechtel's Oil, Gas & Chemicals (OG&C) global business unit. In this role, he has overall responsibility for the development and delivery of all Bechtel's ongoing and prospective tanks projects across the globe.

Chris joined Bechtel in 2012, with more than 22 years of experience in management and business development in the EPC industry, initially working in Houston and later moving to London. In Houston, he helped set up Bechtel's new tank business as the commercial manager.

In 2013, Chris moved to London as the Tanks operations manager for the Europe, Africa, Middle East Region, leading the bidding effort for a tank farm expansion in Kazakhstan for Tengizchevroil. He was made project manager upon winning the project in 2014.

Chris returned to Houston in 2016 as the Tanks business development operations manager. Before joining Bechtel, Chris worked in management and business development roles in Canada, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Russia, United Kingdom, Australia, and Singapore.

Chris is the management sponsor of OG&C's Diversity Advisory Council whose purpose is to enhance the understanding of all cultures by promoting an all-inclusive workplace through diversity education and awareness wherever Bechtel does business.

Chris earned a degree in mechanical engineering with a management option in 1990 from the University of Ottawa.
