Michelle De Franca

Aviation Sector Lead, Infrastructure at Bechtel

Michelle De Franca is the Aviation sector lead for Bechtel Infrastructure, responsible for developing and driving our global strategy for aviation infrastructure planning, design, construction, and project management.

Michelle joined Bechtel in 2009 on the greenfield, award-winning Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Qatar where she led the commercial management of the multi-billion-dollar Passenger Terminal Complex.

Following her work at HIA, Michelle served as commercial manager for Bechtel’s global aviation group in London, working with proposal teams to structure winning commercial strategies and assisting delivery teams with commercial issues. In 2017, she was appointed executive assistant to the president of Bechtel Infrastructure. Michelle has since held leadership roles supporting several Bechtel aviation projects and proposals in Australia, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom.

Michelle has an LL.B. (Honors) in law and a Bachelor of Commerce in economics and law from Pretoria University in South Africa.
