Alysa Austin has a diverse range of work experience. Alysa started their career in 2005 as a Field Teacher at Manice Education Center, Cristadora. Alysa then worked as a Writing Colleague and Program Assistant at Hobart and William Smith Colleges from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, Alysa became an English Teacher at Vientiane Colleg. Alysa also interned as an Education Outreach Intern at YES! Magazine from 2009 to 2010. Alysa joined Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA in 2010 as an Assistant Director of Travel and Service Programs. Alysa later became the Executive Director of Travel and Service Programs in 2016 and eventually transitioned to the role of Executive Director of Community Engagement and Inclusion in 2020.

Alysa Austin completed their BA degree in Experiential Education from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in the years 2004-2008. Alysa later pursued further education at Marlboro College Graduate & Professional Studies, where they obtained their MS degree in Organizational Leadership from 2017 to 2020.
