Sonia Serrano Garcia has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sonia started their career in 1996 as a Gerente de Contabilidad at Banco Santander and then moved on to become a Gerente de Contabilidad y Regulación at Banco Sudamericano from 1999 to 2006.
In 2006, they joined Scotiabank Perú S.A./ Scotia Perú Holdings S.A. as a Gerente de Contabilidad / Proyectos Especiales (Fusiones) where they were responsible for the departments of Contabilidad, Pago a Proveedores, and Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance (SOX). Sonia successfully integrated the accounting systems of Banco Sudamericano and Wiese Sudameris for the formation of Scotiabank Perú, as well as transferred the operational accounting system (Oracle) from Banco del Trabajo to Scotiabank Perú's platform.
From 2010 to 2011, they served as the Gerente de Capital Humano at Hermes Transportes Blindados S.A., where they oversaw various areas including Selection, Organization, Compensation, and Employee Services. Sonia managed a team of 16 specialists and achieved notable accomplishments such as implementing competency frameworks and improving employee satisfaction.
Sonia then moved on to work at DBM PERU in 2011 as a Gerente de Desarrollo de Negocios.
In 2009, they joined DS Global as a Partner Director and in 2018, they joined Bederr as a Business Director.
Most recently, in 2020, they became the CEO of Masterplan.
Sonia Serrano Garcia has a diverse education background with a focus on strategic management and accounting. In 1981, they attended the Universidad de Lima, where they pursued a degree in Contabilidad y Auditoría, obtaining the title of Contador Publico Colegiado y Certificado in 1985. To further enhance their knowledge, they enrolled in the Programa de Desarrollo Gerencial at PAD (IESE Business School) / Universidad de Piura in 1997. In 2001, they participated in the Latin American Quality Program at AOTS in Osaka, Japan. Finally, in 2004, Sonia pursued a Master's degree in Dirección Estratégica del Factor Humano at EOI (España) / Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, which they completed in 2005.
