Ian Yates

Ian Yates has over two decades of experience in waste management and recycling, currently serving as the Manager for Refuse and Recycling at Bedford Borough Council since September 2018. Previously, Ian held the position of WEEE Site Manager at Amey from April 2013 to September 2018, where responsibilities included managing the WEEE Re-use facility to provide refurbished white goods to individuals in need, as well as offering work experience and training opportunities. Ian also served in similar managerial roles at Enterprise Peterborough and Peterborough City Council, focusing on compliance and operational management in WEEE. Earlier in their career, Ian worked as an EHS Technician at Indesit Company, where duties involved conducting audits and managing waste contractor relationships. Ian's education was completed at Fyndoune Comprehensive School in County Durham.
