James Penny has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. James started working at Bedrock Learning in September 2020, initially serving as a Customer Success Administrator before transitioning into the role of Operations Executive in September 2021. Prior to that, James worked at Livewire from September 2016 to May 2020, where they served as a Webmaster, Radio Presenter, and ultimately as a Station Manager. From February 2018 to April 2020, they worked at City College Norwich, first as an Administrative Assistant and later as an Employer Liaison Assistant. James also gained experience as a Content Writer for Concrete - UEA's Official Student Newspaper from November 2019 to March 2020. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance Videographer for Norfolk Citizens Advice Bureau from August 2018 to March 2019. Finally, James worked as Front of House Staff at The Fur & Feather Inn from September 2012 to September 2017.

James Penny completed their Master of Arts (MA) degree in Film, Television & Creative Practice from the University of East Anglia in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Film & Television Studies from the same university, graduating in 2018. In 2015, James attended the National Extension College, where they completed 1 A-Level in English Literature. Before attending university, they studied at Thorpe St Andrew Sixth Form from 2012 to 2014, where they completed 3 A-Levels in English Language, Film Studies, and History. James' secondary education was at Thorpe St Andrew High School from 2007 to 2012, where they obtained 9 GCSE levels. In addition to their academic qualifications, James Penny obtained a PRINCE2® Foundation Certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in February 2023.
