Gemma Argelés

Gemma Argelés has a strong background in the field of technology and data analysis. Gemma began their career in 2010 as an Oracle Developer at avanttic Consultoría Tecnológica, S.L., where they worked on various projects related to the integration and harmonization of the Spanish stock market with European regulations. Gemma was responsible for analyzing, redesigning, and optimizing PL/SQL processes stored in an Oracle database. Gemma also worked on adapting FIX messaging exchange to a newer version based on XML called FIXML.

In 2019, Gemma joined FDS, a DXC Technology Company, as a Business Intelligence Consultant. In this role, they played a key role in data analysis, providing valuable insights to support business decision-making. Their work involved designing and implementing effective BI solutions and delivering reports and dashboards to clients. Gemma worked at FDS until December 2021.

Currently, Gemma is employed at Beedata Analytics as a Data Engineer. Gemma started their position in January 2022. As a Data Engineer, they are responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, integrating data from multiple sources, and ensuring data quality and reliability.

Throughout their career, Gemma has demonstrated their expertise in data analysis, database management, and software development. Their technical skills include Oracle Database, PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle XML DB, TOAD, TortoiseSVN, and various data analytics tools. Gemma Argelés holds a diverse educational background in the field of data management and mathematics. Gemma started their academic journey by completing a Licenciatura de Matemáticas (Mathematics Degree) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 1994 to 2000. Following this, they pursued further specialization in visual analytics and big data by obtaining a Máster en Visual Analytics y Big Data (Master's in Visual Analytics and Big Data) at UNIR - La Universidad en Internet, where they attended from 2015 to 2016. Later, in 2017 to 2018, Gemma pursued a Máster Big Data Management, Technologies and Analytics (Master's in Big Data Management, Technologies and Analytics) at UPC School (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya). Additionally, they have obtained the Professional Data Engineer certification from Google in the year 2021.
