Rick Gillespie has a diverse work experience that spans various industries. Rick started their career as a Summer Help at Kitsap County Public Works in 2009. Rick then pursued their education at the University of Idaho while working as a Student from 2009 to 2013.
In 2012, Rick joined Barker Capital Management Group as a Financial Analyst. Rick later transitioned to become a Funded Trader, actively managing individual real money accounts for the group. Rick utilized option strategies and small round lot positions to capture market moves.
From 2013 to 2016, Rick worked at Columbia County Grain Growers as a Grain Merchandiser/Assistant Manager. Rick was responsible for pricing, purchasing, and marketing agricultural commodities in the Pacific Northwest, primarily focusing on Soft White Wheat, Barley, Dark Northern Spring, and Hard Red Winter wheat.
In 2016, Rick joined Northwest Grain Growers as a Grain Merchandiser. Rick held this role until 2018 when they moved to Beef Northwest Feeders. At Beef Northwest Feeders, they initially served as a Risk Manager and later became the Director of Risk Management in 2022.
Throughout their career, Rick has honed their skills in risk management, trading, analysis, and commodity marketing.
Rick Gillespie earned their Bachelor's degree from the University of Idaho, where they majored in Finance and minored in Accounting. Rick attended the university from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, in December 2013, they obtained two additional certifications: Series 3 and Series 30. However, the institution where they obtained these certifications is unknown.
