Alex Slade

Alex Slade has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. They started their career as a Pharmacy Assistant at Welsh's Chemist in 2000, where they served customers and handled inventory control. In 2004, they worked as an Operations Analyst at AXIS Capital, where they conducted research on system errors and analyzed insurance risks. The following year, they worked as a Media Analyst at Press Watch.

In 2005, Alex joined Experian as an Analyst and later took on roles as a Project Manager and Senior Project Manager, working on accounts for a major UK bank and leading telco. They provided analysis and marketing support, designed data architecture, and built propensity and value models. They also liaised with the web team to deliver bespoke web tools and utilized tools such as Visual Fox Pro, PL/SQL, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and statistical software. They ultimately became a Senior Project Manager and Data Scientist, leading projects to enhance insurance pricing models with external credit data using Generalized Linear Models.

In 2017, Alex joined Logical Glue as a Data Scientist before moving on to Concirrus in 2018. At Concirrus, they initially worked as a Lead Data Scientist and later became the Director of Data Science. They then took on the role of a Distinguished (Principal) Data Scientist. Finally, in 2022, Alex joined Beeswax, which was later acquired by Comcast, as a Machine Learning Manager.

Throughout their career, Alex Slade has gained extensive experience in data science, project management, and analytics, demonstrating their ability to adapt to different roles and industries.

Alex Slade completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge from 1997 to 2002. Later, in 2002-2003, Alex also obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
