Barbara started her journey with Beit T’Shuvah 22 years ago as a resident. She came from a background of teaching elementary school and remedial reading as well as executive assistant positions. Barbara started working in Beit T’Shuvah’s Development Department 16 years ago, and during that time she earned an MBA in nonprofit management from American Jewish University. She transitioned into the Human Resources Department in 2014. Keeping up with all 100 staff members and volunteers — including hiring, orientation, trainings, flu and TB shots, insurance enrollments, etc.— has really enabled Barbara to fully use her natural people skills and her organizational abilities. In addition, keeping the staff in line with The Joint Commission standards and practices, as well as federal and state law, has proven to be an exciting challenge. Barbara is eager to continue learning and growing, whatever the next project may be.
