Tom Reynkens

Tom Reynkens is an accomplished data science professional with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and actuarial science. Since October 2018, Tom has served as the Head of the AI Lab at Belfius, leading the Data Science & AI team to enhance customer and employee value through machine learning and AI solutions. Concurrently, Tom has been associated with KU Leuven since 2013, where roles have included Senior Data Scientist and voluntary research associate, focusing on actuarial science research projects related to credit scoring, claim modeling, and fraud detection. Tom earned a PhD in Mathematics from KU Leuven, with a dissertation on Extreme Value Theory in Finance and Insurance, complemented by a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the same institution.
