Bryan Downey

President at Belgrave Associates

Bryan founded Belgrave Associates in 2010, following more than 20 years of high-level sales and marketing experience in the non-profit and communications industries. He applies knowledge from a successful sales career to develop effective marketing and brand management strategies.

He served as vice president of marketing and communications for the Arts & Science Council (ASC), where he was responsible for overall strategy, including brand stewardship and boosting participation in the cultural community. Prior to joining ASC, Bryan was vice president of marketing services for The Charlotte Observer, where he oversaw strategic marketing initiatives for the largest newspaper in the Carolinas and its online edition, CharlotteObserver.com.

Bryan is a member of the board of directors of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Foundation, which provides financial support to faculty, students and programs at N.C. State's College of Veterinary Medicine. He was also elected to ASC’s board of directors and volunteered for the Levine Museum of the New South and The Crossnore School. He earned undergraduate degrees from The Sorbonne in Paris, France, and Furman University, as well as a master of business administration from Winthrop University. He is a graduate of The Innovation Institute and Leadership Charlotte.
