Matteo Moretto-Zita

Matteo Moretto-Zita is a Principal Scientist at Belharra Therapeutics since July 2022, with a strong background in high throughput biology gained during tenure at Vertex Pharmaceuticals from April 2016 to July 2022. Previous roles include Assistant Project Scientist at the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine, where focus was on embryonic stem cell functions and the development of in vitro models related to preeclampsia. As a Postdoctoral Researcher and Fellow at UC San Diego, research centered on human placental development and molecular mechanisms of stem cell self-renewal, leading to significant discoveries regarding trophoblast stem cells and embryonic stem cell reprogramming. Matteo's academic credentials include a PhD in Neuroscience from the International School for Advanced Studies and a BS in Biotechnology from Università degli Studi di Trieste.
