Ruben Vargas

Ruben Vargas has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Ruben currently holds the position of Chief Internal Auditor at Belize Telemedia Limited since April 2021. In their previous role as Director of the Board of Directors at the National Sports Council of Belize, they served from December 2020.

Prior to these positions, Ruben worked at Smart Belize, where they held multiple roles. Ruben served as the Manager of Internal Audit & Security from September 2013 to March 2021, the Billing and Collections Manager from December 2009 to August 2013, and as a Senior Accountant from October 2008 to November 2009.

Before joining Smart Belize, Ruben worked at Regency Centers as a Property Accountant from September 2007 to September 2008.

Ruben Vargas holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of North Florida. Ruben also obtained a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification from the IIA-The Institute of Internal Auditors. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Accounting at Regis University, expected to be completed in 2022.
