Thomas Mangos has a strong background in regulatory affairs and flavor technology. Their most recent position was as the Director of Regulatory Affairs at Bell Flavors & Fragrances, where they currently work. Prior to that, they served as the Regulatory Affairs Manager at Harvest Hill Beverage Company. Thomas also held the position of Senior Regulatory Manager at Givaudan and was the Director of Quality Management and Global Regulatory Affairs at Summit Hill Flavors. Earlier in their career, Mangos worked as the Director of Flavor Engineering & Technology at Symrise AG and as the Director of R&D at Wild Flavors, Inc. Thomas also had a managerial role at DRAGOCO (Symrise), where they invented a patented microcapsule technology. Mangos began their career as a research scientist at USDA-ARS, focusing on fats and oils, nutrition, and enzyme technology. Thomas also worked as a food chemist at the State Department of Chemistry (CLUA).
Thomas Mangos has an extensive education history in the field of food science and chemistry. Thomas earned a Bachelor's degree from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 1985, majoring in Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree at KIT from 1986 to 1988, focusing on Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, Statistics, and Food Regulations.
To further enhance their knowledge and expertise, Mangos pursued a Doctor of Science (Ph.D.) degree in Food Chemistry at Leibniz Universität Hannover from 1991 to 1994.
In addition to their formal education, Mangos obtained a certification in HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) from Rutgers University in July 2014.
