Jane has over 20 years’ experience in commercial property work, both in New Zealand and the UK and specialises in commercial leasing and development projects.

​​Jane's area of practice is commercial property and real estate with a particular focus on leasing and development projects. Her clients value her extensive knowledge of the industry and the market and her level of expertise.

Jane is a recognised expert and applies her extensive knowledge to clients on the leasing, sale and purchase of commercial properties including design and build projects and sale and lease back transactions. Jane acts for key players in the New Zealand property market including major developers, retailers and forestry companies. She has a reputation for being commercially astute and highly proactive and efficient.

Jane has co-authored the New Zealand Property Council Retail Lease and authored the current edition of the New Zealand Property Council Office Lease. She has also authored a Green Lease Schedule on behalf of a number of major property owners in the property market, and a suite of seismic, insurance and re-instatement lease clauses. In demand as a speaker on property issues, Jane presents seminars on numerous topics for CoreNet, Property Council of New Zealand and other industry bodies.

Jane is ranked as a leading lawyer for real estate and construction in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2022. In previous editions clients said that Jane “takes the time to engage well with the issues that the business is facing, and is practical in how she delegates the work throughout her team of very capable lawyers who each deliver great work, on time and on point." Jane was also described as "one of the most experienced and respected property partners in New Zealand."

Chambers Asia Pacific 2021 ranks Jane in the top tier for real estate, with clients recognising her work on development projects and disposals. Clients describe Jane as "a highly experienced and able lawyer who gets things done". The previous edition notes Jane as "a well-known industry figure" and someone with a "depth of expertise in getting the job done in her client's best interest".

Jane is recognised by Doyles Guide 2020 as a leading lawyer for Property and Real Estate in New Zealand.

Jane is a current member of the Property Council of New Zealand's Events and Diversity & Inclusivity Committees.

As of March 2019, Jane is an Independent Director of the New Zealand Green Building Council.

During the pandemic Jane has presented frequent seminars, and authored many newsletters, on COVID-19 related issues for the property industry.
