Jon McClain has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jon began their career in the United States Navy as a Damage Controlman 3rd Class, serving aboard the USS Shreveport and completing two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. After their military service, Jon worked as a Police Dispatcher at Northern Kentucky University Police Department, followed by a role as a Deputy Jailer at Campbell County Detention Center. In 2012, they became a Fire Investigator at the Campbell County Fire Investigation Team. Jon then joined the Bellevue Police Department, where they held various positions, including Patrolman, Detective, Sergeant, and Lieutenant/Assistant Chief. Recently, they were promoted to the role of Chief of Police. Jon also serves as a Council Member for the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council and as Secretary for the Northern Kentucky Police Chiefs Association. Overall, Jon has demonstrated extensive experience in law enforcement and a commitment to public safety throughout their career.
Jon McClain's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas More University, which they obtained from 2016 to 2019. In 2022, they attended the FBI National Academy session 282, where they gained knowledge in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2016, they pursued an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science at Gateway Community & Technical College.
