Janine Thorn

Janine Thorn has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in communications, marketing, and education. Starting in 2002, they worked as a Teacher at Chicago Public Schools, where they focused on lesson planning, student engagement, and incorporating internet learning programs into the curriculum. Janine then transitioned into marketing roles, first as a Product Manager at Pearson Achievement Solutions from 2005 to 2007, where they led cross-functional teams and managed the development and enhancement of products. From 2009 to 2012, Janine worked as an Internet Marketing Manager at Career Education Corporation, responsible for agency and vendor management and optimizing online advertising channels. Janine then moved on to become a Marketing Consultant at Janine Thorn Consulting, delivering marketing services to various organizations, including Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and First African Methodist Episcopal Church. In 2014, they became the Office Marketing Manager at First African Methodist Episcopal Church, where they developed marketing strategies and managed the implementation of integrated marketing campaigns. From 2016 to 2017, they served as the Professional Development Program Manager at Seattle Pacific University, providing program management and professional development resources to graduate students. In 2017, they founded their own consulting firm, Janine Thorn Consulting, where they focused on providing integrated marketing communication strategy and management to nonprofit organizations and small businesses. Most recently, they worked as the Director of Communications at Puget Sound ESD from 2018 to 2021. Currently, Janine Thorn holds the role of Chief Communications Officer (CCO) at Bellevue School District since 2021.

Janine Thorn has a B.A. degree in Public Relations from Roosevelt University. Janine also holds an M.A. in Integrated Marketing Communications from the same university.
