Dr. Jennie Byrne is responsible for development and implementation of Belong Health’s holistic patient engagement model, powered by behavioral science to improve engagement with complex D-SNP populations. Dr. Byrne is a NYU trained clinical psychiatrist who served in residence in general adult psychiatry at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. She has 15+ years of clinical practice and executive experience in behavioral health for Medicare Advantage and D-SNP populations.
Prior to joining Belong Health, she served as Chief Behavioral Health Officer at CareMore, where she was responsible for designing, implementing and managing clinical care pathways and behavioral health strategies for risk-bearing providers and advanced primary care homes across 11 states. She also served as Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Community Care of North Carolina, a local health plan serving 6K providers and 1.7M patients in Medicaid Integrated Medical Homes across the state of North Carolina.
She was a practicing clinical psychiatrist and business owner of Cognitive Psychiatry of Chapel Hill until 2019, growing her practice to serve 600+ patients annually for adolescent, adult and geriatric psychiatry and substance abuse.
She earned a B.A. from University of Pennsylvania and M.D. and Ph.D. in Neurophysiology from New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Byrne resides in Chapel Hill, NC.
Jennie Byrne did their residency in psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Jennie also has an MD and PhD in neurophysiology from the New York Medicine Jobs. Additionally, Jennie Byrne has a BA in the biological basis of behavior and French from the University of Pennsylvania.
