Uncommon

15% of the population is neurodivergent. And yet mental health and education services are not designed for them. At Uncommon, we support the mental health and education of neurodivergent young people and their families. We currently work with neurodivergent young people who struggle to attend school because of extreme anxiety (often called emotionally based school avoidance.) Our solution aims to build up confidence and allow for a safe space with people who share similar experiences. We also provide support to parents. Our Uncommon Solution Uncommon is a place where neurodivergent young people and their families can: - Feel accepted and build a network of supporters who think differently - Receive advice from neurodivergent experts - Get support from trained peer guides - Access resources to navigate wellbeing, life, relationships, and studies - Explore strengths and interests, and be inspired by neurodivergent role models Who are we? Uncommon is an early-stage venture led by Sascha Evans and Kirsten Jack. We are backed by Zinc.vc and are part of UCL’s incubator The Hatchery We are founded for and by neurodivergent people. We've built a neurodivergent-first team of wellbeing experts, clinicians, educators, and product design specialists, ensuring that our products and services are designed with lived experience perspectives in mind. As a team, we are Uncommonly creative, tenacious, and empathetic. We are all driven to create solutions to the challenges many of us experienced as neurodivergent teens and now, as, neurodivergent parents.
