Stephen Deasy

Stephen Deasy is Head of Technology at Benchling, where he is responsible for building and scaling the company’s products, platform and global team of technologists. Stephen joins Benchling with 20 years experience growing engineering teams at high-growth software companies including VMware, EMC, and Groupon. Most recently, at Atlassian, Stephen led the cloud platform and infrastructure groups before expanding his remit to become head of engineering, where he oversaw all product engineering, including products such as Jira, Confluence, and Trello. Stephen holds a B.Sc. from Munster Technological University and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University. He has a number of issued patents and invests in early stage technology companies. Stephen is also a member of the Board of Visitors at Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business and the IDEA Venture Accelerator.
