Lead Fluids System Engineer at Benchmark Space Systems

Matthew Melerine, E.I have a diverse work experience. In 2010, they began working as a Manager at Munchies Tex Mex. In 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant at NCAM/Lockheed Martin/NASA, as well as an Operations Engineer and Mechanical Engineer Intern at Sub Surface Tools. From 2016 to 2019, they were a Mechanical Engineer at SynCom Space Services (S3). Since 2019, they have been a Propulsion Test Engineer at Relativity Space, where they have designed advanced propulsion test stands for turbo machinery and 23,000 pound thrust engines (Aeon 1). Matthew has also conducted cryogenic fluid analysis, structural analysis, and created fabrication drawings. Matthew has won multiple contracts including NASA, DARPA, and DOD awards due to milestone completions and demonstration tests. Since 2022, they have been a Senior Fluids System Engineer and Fluid System Engineer at Benchmark Space Systems.

Matthew Melerine, E.I. obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Orleans in 2015. In 2016, they earned an Engineering Intern certification from the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS). In 2014, they obtained an HSE Certifcate of Completion IADC Rig Pass from the Career Traning Center. Matthew also holds an edX Honor Code Certificate for Alien Worlds: The Science of Exoplanet Discovery and Characterization from edX.
