Abdullah Ameen

Abdullah Ameen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Abdullah began their career as a Design Engineer with DACAAR in 2003, where they conducted surveys and provided technical support for water supply networks in Afghanistan. Abdullah then worked as an Environmental Health Engineering Manager and later as an Environmental Health Senior Engineering Manager at the International Rescue Committee, overseeing the Community Driven Reconstruction program and leading a team of engineers.

Abdullah also served as a Regional Manager at The Asia Foundation, where they coordinated the Performance Based Governors' Fund program. Abdullah then worked as a Field Program Director at AECOM, planning and coordinating field activities for a USAID-funded program in Afghanistan.

Abdullah's work experience includes roles in the non-profit sector as well. Abdullah worked as a Case Manager at Porchlight, Inc., assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining stable housing and employment. Abdullah also served as a Math/Science Instructor at Forward Service Corporation, developing academic curriculum and providing instruction and tutoring to high school students.

Most recently, Abdullah worked at TDS Telecommunications LLC as a Lead GIS Data Analyst and later as a GIS Data Analyst. In these roles, they studied and analyzed fiber cable networks, created SOPs and web maps, and trained personnel in GIS and utility mapping.

Abdullah Ameen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Kabul University, which they obtained from 1997 to 2001. Abdullah later pursued professional development courses in English Communication and Project Management at Madison Area Technical College from 2015 to 2016. Most recently, Abdullah earned a Master of Science degree in GIS and Cartography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 2017 and 2020.
