Omar Cardia

Software Engineer at Bending Spoons

Omar Cardia is currently a software engineer at Bending Spoons. Prior to this, they worked as a software engineer at Intel Corporation from December 2014 to June 2018. Omar was a member of the Imaging and Camera technologies Group (ICG) in a team responsible for delivering Digital Signal Processors used in Intel Imaging Processing Unit (IPU). Omar's main scope of the team was the delivery of HW construction tools, compilers, simulators, debuggers, and the runtime infrastructure.

Some of their key contributions include being a key contributor to the simulation framework and the IPU simulator used for early FW development, co-owning the simulation model of Geometric Distortion Correction accelerator used in the IPU, and leading the efforts to deploy modern software quality practices (e.g., static code analysis, code coverage, memory corruption and leakage detection). These efforts resulted in eliminating all static analysis issues in the simulator code-base and removing several memory leakages. Omar also contributed to improving the build and test infrastructure by reducing the build time by more than 50% and being responsible for SW Legal Compliance of ICG SDK deliverables through checking the code-base for copyright and license violations.

Omar Cardia works with Florinda Pannofino - Business Development & Partnerships Manager, Alex Delbono - Software Engineer, and Andrea De Angelis - Software Engineer. Their manager is Luca Ferrari, Co-founder & CEO.
