Richard Byrne

Richard Byrne is an experienced financial executive currently serving as President of Benefit Street Partners since 2013. In this role, Richard holds the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for several affiliated corporations, including Franklin BSP Lending Corporation and Franklin BSP Realty Trust, Inc. Prior to Benefit Street Partners, Richard served as Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. and Co-Head of Global Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank from 1999 to 2013. Earlier in Richard's career, Richard was Global Co-Head of the Leveraged Finance Group and Global Head of Credit Research at Merrill Lynch from 1985 to 1999, gaining recognition as a top-ranked credit analyst in the Gaming, Lodging & Leisure sector. Richard Byrne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Binghamton University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
