Anthony Bloome

Advisor at Benetech

Anthony Bloome is an advisor at Benetech and a former senior education technology specialist at USAID. Anthony has over a decade of experience in the field of information and communications technology for education (ICT4E) and distance learning media, delivery, and effectiveness.

During their time at USAID, Bloome served as the agency's digital literacy advisor, responsible for providing internal and cross-USG Agency leadership on ICT4E issues. Anthony also founded and led USAID's engagement in the All Children Reading Grand Challenge for Development, a $34 million competition funding platform focused on the innovative use of technology to accelerate early grade reading outcomes.

In addition, Bloome conceptualized and managed the Global Education Framework collaborative agreement between USAID Education and Peace Corps. Anthony has also served on multiple advisory boards and review panels, including the Library of Congress International Literacy Awards and the U.S. Department of Education's Small Business Innovation Research Ed Tech grants.

Anthony Bloome has a Master's degree in Telecommunications from George Mason University and a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from the University of California, Los Angeles.
