Hema Sundarraj

Hema Sundarraj is the current director at Benetech. Hema has also held positions at Cepheid, Nanometrics, and Sunpreme Inc. Hema has been working in the finance industry for over 10 years.

Hema Sundarraj started their finance career at Sunpreme Inc. in 2010. Hema quickly rose through the ranks and became the VP (Head of) Finance in 2013. During their time at Sunpreme Inc., Hema was responsible for financial planning and analysis, business plans & models, series B fund raise $50M, and working on series C from late stage VCs and PE firms. Hema was also responsible for enabling product cost reductions, manufacturing cost expertise, revenue recognition, order-cash optimization, accounting, internal controls and compliance using GAAP & IFRS standards, worldwide SAP implementation, and managing HR and IT functions.

In 2018, Hema left Sunpreme Inc. to join Nanometrics as their Vice President, Corporate Controller. During their time at Nanometrics, Hema successfully completed the due diligence, PPA accounting, integration including ERP implementation for an acquisition, followed by due diligence, SEC (S4) requirements, integration (pre-100 days and post-100 days) for a Merger-of-equals. Hema was also responsible for implementing several digital transformation initiatives including Blackline, an Asia Shared Service center and several other productivity improvements.

Hema Sundarraj has an MBA in Finance and Marketing from XLRI Jamshedpur, a BS in Accounting, Finance, and Economics from the University of Madras, and is a Certified Public Accountant with an active license from the California Board of Accountancy.
