Deanna McCusker has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of user experience and interaction design. Deanna started their career in 1995 as a User Interaction Design Consultant, providing their expertise to various organizations including Intel, Remedy, Macromedia, and Symantec. From 2003 to 2004, they worked as a Sr. User Interaction Designer at Knowmadic, where they were responsible for redesigning the user interface of a business analysis tool. Deanna then joined VMware, Inc. in 2004, where they served as a Sr. User Experience Designer for nearly a decade. During their time at VMware, they designed the user experience for vCloud Suite 5 and vSphere 4, as well as leading the user experience for VMware Update Manager plugin and VMware Workstation 5. In 2013, they joined Benetech as a UX Designer, focusing on improving the usability and accessibility of Bookshare's web ebook library, mobile apps, and smart speaker apps. Deanna eventually became the Head of User Experience at Benetech.
