Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha (retd) has had a distinguished career in both military and civilian sectors. As Chancellor of Assam (Central) University since September 2023, Arup Raha also serves as President of CENERS-K and is a member of the Empowered Committee for Cyber Security CoE in West Bengal. Additional roles include Ambassadeur Extraordinaire at The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and former Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee for the Government of India. With a service record in the Indian Air Force from December 1974 to December 2016, Arup Raha held various senior leadership positions, including Chief of Air Staff and Vice Chief of Air Staff. The educational background encompasses advanced degrees in Defence Studies and Strategic Studies from esteemed military institutions.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry was set up in 1853. However, the Chamber's origins date back to 1833 when its founding forefathers came together to form the first association of its kind in the country, which was later formalized as the Bengal Chamber. For the last one and a half centuries, the Chamber has played a pioneering role as a helmsman, steering the evolution of Commerce and Industry in India.
