Francois Valois has had a diverse range of roles and responsibilities throughout their work experience. Francois began their career at Esri in 2001 as a Product Engineer. In 2004, they joined Bentley Systems as a Senior Product Line Manager and later became a Senior Director of Product Management. Francois then took on the role of Senior Director of Software Development Reality Modeling, leading a unit focused on reality capture software products. Francois then transitioned to a role as Senior Director of Portfolio Development, responsible for Bentley's merger and acquisition activities and strategic software development projects. Most recently, they were Vice President Portfolio Development and later Vice President Civil Infrastructure, overseeing the overall operation of Bentley's Civil Infrastructure business unit and leading various products and services.

Francois Valois has a diverse education history, with degrees and certifications in various fields. In 1997, they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Surveying Engineering from Université Laval. Following this, in 2005, they obtained a Certificate in Project Management from the same institution. In 2008, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Université Laval, which they completed in 2011. Moving forward, in 2017, Francois attended the MIT Sloan School of Management, where they focused on Artificial Intelligence and its implications for business strategy. The following year, in 2018, they enrolled in a 6-week executive development program at Columbia Business School, specializing in Leading Strategic Growth. In 2020, Francois attended the Harvard Business School, where they completed the General Management Program (GMP) focused on Business Administration and Management. Finally, in 2022, they participated in the Inspired and Empowered Workshop at the Silicon Valley Product Group (SVPG), honing their skills in Software Product Management.
