Sébastien Baehni is the CTO at Beqom. Prior to their current position, Sébastien was the VP Engineering at Nexthink from January 2011 to July 2019. There, they were responsible for establishing and managing the Engineering processes with the help of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean), as well as management of distributed Engineering teams, hiring and recruitment of new members in the Engineering department, and management of the corporate IT, from the End User Experience management up to the infrastructure. Sébastien was also responsible for the global worldwide support of their product.
Before Nexthink, Sébastien worked at Swissquote from January 2008 to December 2011 as an Associate Director. Sébastien was responsible for leading a small team between 6 and 13 people where the focus was developing applications for the back office of the bank to minimize the number of manual interactions done by the operators. Such applications were (but are not limited to): share registry, documents generation (portfolio valuations, opening contracts, account and fiscal statements, ...), secure password/L3 generation, corporate actions, incoming payment handling, ... The management of the team and the projects were done with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) in mind. Sébastien was also co-responsible (development side) for the migration of the banking package of the bank (from New Banking to TAFJ (Java implementation of T24 of Temenos)).
Sébastien Baehni holds a PhD in Computer Science from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Sébastien also has a Master's in Computer Science from EPFL. Sébastien has also completed a certification from IMD Business School in Nexthink Leadership Development Journey and another certification from Coursera in Lean Software Development.
