Kai Bonitz

Kai Bonitz serves as the Head of Legal & Compliance at Berlin Brandenburg Airport since March 2019. Previously, Kai held various roles at Gegenbauer from August 2013 to February 2019, including Head of Legal and Corporate Development and Head of Legal. Prior experience includes working as an Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from September 2008 to July 2013, with a focus on private M&A, general commercial and contract law, public procurement law, as well as litigation and arbitration. Early legal training involved positions as a Legal Trainee at Hengeler Mueller and Linklaters in 2005 and 2007, respectively. Kai's educational background includes a Doctoral Degree in Law from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from King's College London, and various legal qualifications culminating in the 1st and 2nd State Examinations in Law.
