Steven Eick has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. Steven began their career in 1996 at Avery Partners, where they co-founded and co-managed an equity-focused hedge fund. During their time there, the fund grew from $10 million to $500 million in assets under management (AUM) and had 16 personnel. The fund also achieved industry-leading risk-adjusted returns and a Sharpe ratio of 2.
After leaving Avery Partners, Steven joined Forest Investment Management in 2004 as a Portfolio Manager. During their tenure, they raised and managed $200 million in capital for an equity-focused strategy, consistently achieving double-digit returns with a Sharpe ratio of 2.85. Steven left the company in 2007.
Steven then worked as a Portfolio Manager at Brencourt Advisors from 2010 to 2012. Steven managed a $100 million portfolio for the multistrategy firm and achieved a Sharpe ratio of 2.00.
In 2013, Steven joined Guggenheim Partners as a Portfolio Manager, but their role ended in December 2014.
From 2015, they worked at Haroset Partners as a Senior Portfolio Manager, and they continue to hold this position. In 2020, they joined Touchstone Advisors, LLC as an M&A Advisor, but their role there ended in June 2023.
Currently, Steven works at Berenberg Capital Markets as a Vice President, starting in June 2023.
Steven Eick received their Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986 from the University of Chicago. Steven then went on to pursue an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School, which they completed in 1992. Additionally, Steven holds certifications in Series 63 and Series 7 from FINRA, although the specific details regarding the institution and year of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
