Dave Hinnenkamp

Hinnenkamp began his career at BerganKDV in 1984 as an intern and rose through the ranks to become CEO in 2018. In 2002, Hinnenkamp was responsible for the launch of BerganKDV Wealth Management as a startup entity. As a long-standing member of the firm’s leadership team, Hinnenkamp has been instrumental in guiding and developing the culture and structure of the organization, which has grown into a nationally ranked firm approaching $90 million in net revenues.

Having spent nearly one half of his career working on the CPA services side of the business and the other half building the wealth management line of business, Dave offers a unique perspective. As CEO he focuses significant effort on attracting, retaining and developing talent and ensuring those talents are unleashed to grow and improve firm.

Hinnenkamp earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from St. Cloud State University and is an active member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Minnesota Society of CPAs. He is also an active supporter of Crescent Cove, an organization offering hospice, respite and palliative care to children and young adults with shortened life expectancies.

An avid baseball player and fan since childhood, Dave plays in about 50 games each year with several different leagues across the nation including the TC Twins locally, with the South Dakota Jackalopes in a fall tournament in Las Vegas, and you can find him playing at the Minnesota Twins Fantasy Camp and occasionally the Bob Wagner Wood Bat Classic in Florida. Dave has even traveled overseas on a “goodwill ambassador” tour to promote baseball in France and Italy.
