Rich Engler has extensive experience in the field of chemistry. Rich started their career in 1995 as a Lecturer at the University of California, San Diego, where they taught for two years. In 1997, they joined the University of San Diego as a Lecturer for a brief period before transitioning to the US EPA. At the EPA, Rich worked as a Chemist from 1997 to 2015, with a temporary assignment in the Marine Pollution Control Branch in 2010-2011. Rich then became a Program Manager for the Green Chemistry Program from 2002 to 2010, overseeing initiatives and representing the program to various audiences. In 2010, Rich joined UC Berkeley Extension as an Online Course Instructor and Course Developer. Rich held these positions until 2014. In 2015, Rich moved on to work for Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. and The Acta Group as a Senior Chemist and later as the Director of Chemistry. Rich still holds these roles. Overall, Rich Engler has a diverse background in chemistry, teaching, and program management.
Rich Engler attended Westtown School from 1979 to 1983, though no degree or field of study is provided for this period. Rich then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry at Haverford College from 1983 to 1987. After completing their undergraduate studies, Rich Engler went on to pursue a PhD in Organic Chemistry at UC San Diego, which they completed between 1987 and 1995.
