James Platt

James Platt is the Chief Operating Officer of Aon Plc, a global professional services firm of over 50,000 employees, focused on risk, retirement and health solutions. He leads Aon’s technology and operations functions (Aon Business Services) and is also responsible for Aon’s digital solutions. He is a member of Aon’s Executive Committee. Upon joining the company in 2014, he led Aon Inpoint, Aon’s insurance consulting business, and was responsible for Risk Analytics. Prior to his current role he was Chief Operating Officer of Aon Risk Solutions.

James started his career as an engineering officer in the British Army. In 2000 he joined the Boston Consulting Group and was elected to Partner in 2008 with a focus on growing BCG’s insurance, financial institutions and technology segments. He subsequently led BCG’s Big Data and Advanced Analytics practice, working with clients to explore the impact of new data technologies and analytics and advising on how to respond.

He is a graduate of Cambridge University where he studied Engineering.
