Katie Tanner

Katie Orvin Tanner, J.D. currently serves as the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) at Berkeley County School District since July 2021. Katie has been with the district since September 2015, initially as a Public Information Officer. With a background in law and a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science, Katie has also held roles in various organizations such as Carolina Youth Development Center and SC Thrive. Katie is responsible for managing external communication, crisis communication, media relations, FOIA compliance, and building positive relationships with government agencies to project a positive image of the school district.
