Deepika Awasthi is a seasoned Research Scientist with extensive expertise in metabolic engineering and microbial genetics. Currently employed at Berkeley Lab since March 2017, Deepika has held various roles including Project Scientist and Biologist Postdoc Fellow. Prior to this, experience included a position as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Florida from June 2016 to February 2017, focusing on the production of fuel and chemicals through microorganism engineering. Deepika also served as an Instructor for a microbial genetics and biotechnology laboratory course and as a Teaching Assistant for basic biology laboratories at the same institution. Deepika's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida and a B.Tech. in Biotechnology from Allahabad Agricultural Institute.
